we celebrated a wonderful election cycle and veteran's day by taking the kids to several of our favorite museums. we had a great little trip together and enjoyed watching joe take off to photograph- he has a great eye for it!
we tried to make it to the norton simon, but it was too close to closing time, so we went on to our favorite restaurant, Damon's in Glendale. We have been going their for 20 years- it has been open since 1937 and is a complete throwback- in decor, in price and quality food!
the next morning, on to the Getty. really a beautiful day. we enjoyed both the galleries and the gardens. c. loved the family room, with its big bed and books. jt enjoyed the art mystery cards the museum provides, k. spent some quality time with her dad and joe was busy photographing the gardens.
after the getty, a great lunch at Palimino in westwood- wonderful food, chic atmosphere (good thing we dropped in at lunch!)
from there we continued down wilshire to the la brea tar pits and then on to LACMA. The vanity fair photgraphs exhibit was great, as was the hearst collection. when we had our fill of fine art, we headed home. it was great to have day together that was out of routine!
